Hi all
I every now and then get condensation on the inside of my screen
It's only just starting happening
Any ideas?

The reason it's only just started happening is all this crap weather recently. You will also have water ingress somewhere in the car creating a damp atmosphere.

Quick fix is to keep the air con running. Then start searching for the water ingress.

It will just be damp air in the car.  Mine is doing it too and has no leaks.  As above, keep the a/c in use all the time and it will reduce condensation and stop the pump seals failing too.

Disagree with the other posts. If you have condensation inside the car, you have water ingress. End of .

When I say water ingress, its not always a major leak. Its enough to get into your car after being caught in the rain with a wet brolly, the inside of the car will steam up. Thats normal. However do that with blocked vents/drain holes and it has nowhere to go, so stays behind and keeps re-appearing.
The air con switched ON, with the re-circ button active acts as a dehumidifier, so as advised in the previous post will deal with the moisture, but it doesn't deal with the initial problem . The fact remains the car should be able to deal with a little moisture on its own. Thus inless uou deal/find out where the water has come from the problem will not go away.
Check under the bonet, all the channels and drain holes, rake out all the dead leaves/moss/twiggs etc etc and providing you dont have agenuine leak it should go away. Look at the sunroof drain holes ( comon area ) and of course the door bottoms.

We currently have high humidity air about which has the ability to cause condensation in any vehicle kept outside.  Today my patio is covered in heavy dew, my home's windows have condensation on the outside and the car had condensation inside on the windows where the sun had warmed the car, but nowhere else inside.  The only water ingress to the car is from damp air via the open vents, not from any leaks.

A vehicle kept inside would most likely have a leak even if it was put away wet - in which case the water evaporates and permeates the car and anything else in the garage and makes things damp.  Heat that up and you get water vapour condensing on cold surfaces - again not a sign of a leak.

If it's 100% dry and then you get condensation that could well be a leak.  But a wet dog, coat, sweaty or wet body can do the same.

As they would say in my business............when there are oposing views is " we have a market".

Both my BMW's live outside and neither have any condensation on them. Dew on the ouside , sure but absolutely Nothing inside.

Whether you think im right or wrong I'd still check all the drainholes etc etc for debris.

Yes I've noticed a lot of condensation in mine now come to think of it but it's usually when I've been in the back seat with the mrs. Whey hey. ).

Yup mate you got me there she was up for it when I was married to wife number 1 but not now.

Check the drains under the bonnet near the hinges, they fill with leaves.

My car doesn't get any condensation inside, but I have rubber winter mats so unlike the carpet ones they don't hold moisture.
