I got an invitation to a preview night at my dealers next Weds, all very secretive apparently, showroom windows blacked out and the car in a curtained area. Sadly I can't make it so they are giving me a private view later in the week. Will be interesting to see it.

I was taking my sun football training
I thought that x3 looks a bit special
But it was a X5
Looked good
Was surprised to see one on the road
Couldn't make out the colour though
I'll have to do a drive by

Dick Lovett have one at Swindon which I had a look at last weekend. MSport 30d model. Must admit I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked as the photos I've seen do it no justice.

Everything feels a little more special, the door handles softer, the close of the door a little more solid.

The RRS is a lovely car though and the X5 will struggle for sales like for like. The long waiting list and some discounting will help though.

Saw one yesterday, it's true that photos do it no justice, it looks great.
I saw the msport model and have now confirmed my order on x5 30d msport, to be delivered at the end of November.

Launch date is 15th nov by the way

Sorry, not the best photo I've ever taken!
The biggest difference stylistically is the nose, which is basically vertical, not that you can tell from the photo  :D

Where there any deals to be had on the new model?

Looks good in grey. I fancied mineral white but that pic has made it all not so clear. What colour are you getting?

I paid list for the new car, (with free servicing) but every time I haggled - and I did haggle - they increased my trade in. I think overt discounts will be a few months down the line, once they see how it's received.

I'm getting space grey, the colour in the pic. I like the carbon black but I've had one ( a 5 series msport) that colour before and wanted a change. I think the worst colour is the brown one, you know the colour they feature highly in the brochure!

By the way, the 30d has plenty of poke for me - faster than my almost 4 year old 35d anyway. Steering is quite a bit different from the old model, new one much lighter at low speeds, hoping that will grow on me.
