Hi does anyone have a diagram for wiring an after market remote to the webasto heater I done it a few years ago on my other x5 but I can't remember where I got the info

i think you need to supply a constant +12v to pin 1 of the webasto multiplug

Don't mess around under the bonnet, the OEM plug is in the boot next to the battery compartment.

This is the plug in the boot for the telestart module ,lives next to the trailer module behind the battery

They are getting harder to find now, but look for a T91 which is the 'newest' one you can get. I think the E53 had the T61.
You can still get the 2004 onwards units from BMW.

They were just plug and play AFAIK. I have not seen anyone referring to butchery to make them work. To keep it all working through the head unit you need this system, but otherwise you can DIY ...... and there is a thread on what to do on the forum. Even to the extent of having a 'tell tale' LED in the front. Someone added a GSM type operation ISTR.
