Post by DSowerby » Wed Oct 16, 2013 8:13 pm

hi Chaps,

quick hello to forum just purchased my 03 4.4 x5 a few weeks ago.
what can i say very impressed with it, and i cant stop playing with it. already installed aux kit, cluster gauges. done some body work to back bumper and rear door.  renewed badges all round. in process of doing calipers( either black or yellow, trying yellow first) and rotors, clean up then prob black to stop rust coming thorough again. debating freeview tv upgrade, exhaust back boxes or full system as only thing im not to keen on is 4 black exhausts tips. then at a push poss sound system?

Not feeling it re the yellow calipers ......any in the know will roll eyes and giggle those not in the know are quite simply that and subsequently won't notice so unless doing it for genuine own appreciation I'd stick with silver or maybe satin  black if wanting a more
Maintenance free mor discreet non standard look. Beware of attracting wrong attention too.

Glad you like the car - welcome :)

Hi and welcome.

Good choice especially as I have a 4.4 as well, but your definitely has a good spec with lots of extras like heated rear seats not many cars seem to have had that option ticked.

It sounds like you are well on the way to improving further, re the calipers its personal choice on colour and I know that some Porsche and Ferraris have yellow calliper a and it looks good.

I thought about doing my calipers at some point soon. I bought all the paint from Halfrauds but think I will practice on my van first to get a bit of practice.
