For those buying, you will also need to obtain a licence key from BMW @ about £180 as these are needed for CIC equipped vehicles.  The key is specific to your car and is derived from your VIN.  Without the key, these maps won't work correctly.

Annoyingly, the key only works once too.... >:(

Thanks BMW!! >:D

The three discs you have look as though they are the ones that should be able to update any CIC drive as the upgrades can be done by the owner.  You just need a licence key to be able to use them.

Any CIC drive owner can get the same discs from a dealer and self load them which avoids a Dealer labour charge.  It's during the loading process that the key is requested.  Once loaded the system updates as you drive.  The discs are the cheap bit now.

I'm confusing myself now I think.

The older CCC system only took one DVD like the Mk4 nav in the E53 yes?  In which case your disc set looks like a CIC set so won't load into a CCC drive.  I've not seen a multi disc system for the CCC system before which is why I'm puzzled.

The discs appear to be Navteq which is CCC type and the CIC ones should be TeleAtlas - hence my confusion.

What did you buy them to go in.......?
