Improving angel eyes on facelift?

With what I reckon is going to be a heavy winter, I've brought forward my plans to get an X so have a friend in trade looking for one for me. The only thing I really dislike are the awful colour angel eyes. I know the prefacelift ones can be separated and the lights replaced, but I believe the facelift ones are better sealed? If so, is there a way of getting nice bright white angel eyes?

The standard bulb can be replaced for an LED one to change the colour BUT there currently is nothing on the market that will provide the newer style brightness you see on the LCI models.

The bulbs themsleves are very straight forward to replace and can be bought from the likes of HIDs 4 U or HIDS direct, etc.

Ah I didn't realise they were bulbs. Thought they were tubes! Will get those bought as soon as I buy the car. Thanks :)

i bought LEDs and while they certainly made the rings White in colour the brightness was im my opinion not worth the effort, i believe you can get more expensive high wattage LEDs but i would worry about the heat, the 7 (i think)
watt LEDs i had got very hot.

i ended up going back to the standard halogen bulbs

The heat dissipation is the problem so the only 'easy' solution is either multiple light sources or to use an externally mounted light source and 'lightguide' to feed it through - and that is far too much faffing about.... ;)

The last pre-LED Halos fitted do just that with a 35W lamp mounted on it's own with light guide feeds in what would be the high beam position (it's a fake just to maintain the brand face of a BMW car).  Finding a single LED lamp to give that much light into the guides is still an issue and those showing 35w or more are usually multiple LEDs on a board that dissipate 35W in total but in different directions.
