Sickening feeling when you hear / see it happen. Had to have the X5 done when a van spit a stone at the screen in the lake district couple of months back.

Yuck.

Is it cheaper from Ford?

Seriously, that's a pain in the posterior for you......happened to me twice on the M6 with my E53.  Less than impressed at the time.

Why £1800 is it not insured?

I've had a bullet hole type chip in near side part of screen for best part of a year on Porsche and 3 on lotus.

Can't be bothered to do either as it will only happen again!

You have take front of car off lotus to replace screen so real ball ache

Then the £1,800 was irrelevant then!

Not really; someone has to pay for it.

Taking opportunity of an overnight stay in the workshop bay (for silicone to dry off) to get my video cam hard wired in.
