Looking for an X5 3.0d

Hi, I'm JR from Sunny Surrey...
I'm on the lookout for an e53 3.0d sport. I have one in mind which I'm in the process of negotiating over. It's the only one I've seen without leather (!) but otherwise fits my bill.
Should I get it, will pre facelift leather fit in a 05 facelift?
Will keep you posted.

Hi and welcome JR.
Unless you really don't want leather or the car is sooo outstanding regardless I would consider looking elsewhere. I do believe the seats are the same in pre and post facelift on the E53 but the interiors aren't readily available, again unless you have a set on the radar.
What ever you decide there are some very helpful, knowledgable guys on here who can help you with most issues/mods you want to do.

As Don says, pre with fit post. Look on eBay, you do get a few come up for sure. Budget £400ish for the seats and if you get real lucky you can get the door cards too.
Not hard though.

I didn't think the Sport came with cloth seats so you may have a non-Sport base model?
Happy to be corrected though (can't immediately find my '05 car brochure & specs to check).
Oh and Welcome too.......

Thanks Guys. I won't be able to deal without leather, so that will need upgrading.
The interior is grey so the leather will need to be grey or black with a bit of work on the existing lower dash. A fair bit of work maybe, but nothing I've not done before.
It's definitely a sport; leather was indeed an option (that most took - why wouldn't you?)
Besides the leather this X5 sounds like the one to get to me.

Does it have anthracite headlining?
Three spoke steering wheel?
Colour-coded door handles?
5-spoke 19" alloys?
The leather can be changed easily, I did a few threads regards rear seat heating and that included a front seat removal.

+ s226 sports suspension
s330 sports package
s481 sports seat
...but to name a few options as found at
www.bmwarchiv.de when I input the VIN. She's a sport.
Changing out the seats if done before on e36 & VW passat. Just wanted to check that earlier none facelift seats fitted. Should I buy this car I like the idea of some iS nappa....

The Nappa is very nice, but be warned about light gray. I had it on a previous E53 and it required the front seat leather to be changed out a few times as the heated seat elements would leave like a shadow line on the seat after a couple of months.

Welcome aboard.
Deffo an easy swap out on the interior front and advised to go with black instead of grey on the leather front.
