Getting to be a bit of an expert at the old door handle carrier repair now, just had the rear door break after an over exuberant entry by my son whilst it was still locked. The problem being was I have the child locks active on the back, so I couldnt see a way of opening the door without damaging stuff , I didnt want to try and wrestle the door card off with the door closed so after a night thinking I came up with this solution.........

Its a bit of 1mm aluminium sheet cut to 1.5 wide. I put a little bend on the end just to get it started and then pushed it in and pulled up..

worked first time, almost surprised myself with the ease.
Just thought I would pass this on as I had visions of broken door cards and all kinds of stress trying to get the door open.
Hope it helps someone.

I had noticed that my almost 6 month old son is already showing an unhealthy interest in watching to see how things open and close!  Even the iPads are now password secured......

Lord knows what he'll be like in another year or so........ :(

Quite easy. He will have locked you IN the car, and will have changed the password of the iPad and locked you out of that one  :P
