another suspension inactive message query

Post by Jayx5 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 12:46 pm

After having my x5 mot'ed ( it passed) on the way home the suspension inactive message came up. My mechanic put it on his computer but no codes came up! He re set it but the message came back again with no  codes! This morning it looks a little low at the back! It had a bosch s5 battery about 14 months ago and a new alternater 2 months ago. When running the voltage was 13.6v. Any ideas :(

That voltage looks low to me. I would expect to see 14.2v + - running. Does the pump run for a while before the fault comes up ? if so I would look at the pump itself and consider a replacement seal - about £35 and a quite easy job to fit.

All sorted it was a blown fuse! Someone had put a 15amp instead of a 30amp so it had blown! Not sure why though :'(
