Changing rear shoe advice

New Rear disc, pads and shoes were delivered yesterday, so going to change them all shortly, had the discs and pads off last weekend so should be a straight forward change.

But how do I change the shoes? Is it pretty easy? or is there anything I need to know?

Thanks

J

All done, found a good write up on a previous post, pretty straight forward when you know how!

I know new brake pads take a bit of time to 'wear in' but is it the same for new shoes?

I have adjusted them correctly, they lock nice and tight then the X5 is jacked up and the handbrake is up, but I can still pull away fairly easy with the handbrake applied. Is there a process I should go through to wear them in?

I don't want to fail another MOT!

You don't really need to bed in brake shoes but you could try the old apply ti lightly while driving at low speed. TBH mine felt the same as you when I adjusted it. Seemed to feel locked when up in the air but when on a slope didn't really hold properly. When dealer adjusted them they lock in place properly. So sounds like they are not adjusted fully yet.
