hi all, pls help.
Just back from a short trip to the shops, pulled onto drive and switched off the engine. went to pull the key out and its stuck in!
Tried to start car and it wont do that either.
Could it be the immobilser cut in for some reason? If so is there a reset or something, supposedly driving to london in 1 Hour!!!
Cheers Nick

Are you in 'Park' or Neutral. If not you can't remove the key, or start the car.

I think most of us have done it at one point. The E70 etc onwards have an 'idiot switch' which puts the car in Park if you switch off and forget to do it yourself.
At least this was an easy, free fix......

lol
reminds me - about a week after buying the car (my first auto btw, i used to hate autos), i had this problem.
was in a tesco car park - i didn't get down mrs quickly picked something up and we were goin somewhere in a hurry, guess what - car wouldn't start!!
previously i was muckin around with the car at home plus while parked i had the stereo runnin so i thought it ws prob the battery. mrs got so annoyed she went to some shop. i called the AA, then about 10 mins later it occurred to me 'blo0dy hell!! in the wrong gear position!!
lol, car started, AA canceled.
costed some extra unwanted shoppin though!

Thank god for that.
I'm not alone.
Still, something learnt.
