They might do if they use tfr on one of the stages. My concern would be scratching the paint :o

I haven't took any of my cars through a car wash I must be too OCD!

The mrs takes hers to anyone who will wash it she isn't bothered!

PVR you have enough cleaning products to set up a business...I will have to book mine in with you for a top valet.  :)

My last 5 cars have been Romanian-free and it shows. How anyone can use those drive in places regularly and think they are doing themselves a favour is beyond me.

Yes, most definitely! Car washes always use harsh tfr based products.

ok thanks - no I didnt mean romanian/albanian/polish places I meant the automated drive throughs. I hardly ever use them, prefer to detail by hand but occasionally needs must. I spent some time about a month ago with a good wax coating, having cleansed, clayed, sealed etc etc etc  and the mrs took it though a car wash the other day so Im thinking im back to square one with wax application?

what are TFR products???

Traffic film remover. It can strip the wax and it makes black plastics lose there colour, it all depends on how much they dilute it.

I meant automatic car washes too :) The thing is, these things are set up to use the least amount of water possible, so the detergent in them has to be harsh. I used to run a detailing company (I was one of the first in the UK) and I fully detailed a Bentley Continental once, brand spanking new, done at the dealers 3 days before the customer was due to pick it up. I finished it in one day but the day the customer was collecting, they ran it through their own automatic car wash, to 'remove the dust' from when it had been sat outside, and completely undid all the work I had done. Needless to say they were billed £425 and all the work was done again for the client!
