had a brief go in a clients db9 valonte today (07) in all my mucky work gear, and what can i say lovely sound, but seemed a little lacking compared the f type i was in the other week, and i couldnt help but think the interior was a little well poor for such a car, the jag seemed better in every way and even in the v8 guise the jag was in, there cheaper.

Hi,

I agree................I wanted to buy one, so went on a serious look. Tested both V8 and DB9, and walked away, money still in my pocket. Astons look sexy , sound great but thats it. Not as fast as they should be, interior leaves a bit to be desired, servicing very expensive ( first service /oil change quoted at £800 ) handling average , they rust/corrode, headlights leak, doors rust.........I could go on and on , but the worst of it is build quality...................just shocking.
One big dissapointment.
So I got back in my M5 and drove home having saved a lot of money.

I've always loved the looks and sound of the AMs, but, as I'm very unlikely to ever be in a position to own one, I'm happy to see it as a fantasy car and will never look too close at build quality etc.

And you accuse me of forum hijacking!!

Try the new DB9 up from 470 to 510bhp and many trim tweaks. I'm still loving every drive.

Get my hands on a Vantage V12s on Friday. Pre production test drive. 565 horses and about half a tonne lighter than the DB. Should be fun.

I think Astons are to look at night not to drive whereas porkers are ugly but great drives.

Think that sums it up nicely.
