BMW C110 Scanner or V1.4.0 Scanner?

Just wanted to get some ideas about the C110 or V1.4.0 scanner tools available for the BMW.

I want to be able to diagnose / clear fault codes, adjust some settings such as TV in motion - usual bits, live data feed etc.

Considering both units, just not sure which one would be better suited for my needs as i don't fully understand both their capabilities. One bonus is the C110 is stand alone unit, no need for my laptop  ;)

If anyone has used both units and can give a descriptive comparison, i would be greatful before i buy one.

Cheers

Don't want to hi-jack this thread, but what is the difference between one of these and the generic type?

I have a simple OBDII scanner already. Do these do more?

I have the 1.4.0 and its a great tool. But I'm also tempted by the ease of use offered by the c110. Anyone know if it offers the same functions as 1.4.0 or is t more limited? (Apologies for raising an older thread, but no one seems to have both as yet?)

I searched google for info .
This is interesting , the latest version 3.2 software has less functions . version 3.0 seems to be better . version 3.1 is ok .http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/viewtop ... 5&t=155785

There is an icarsoft i910 scanner available also .

Sorry to bring a old thread. I have to clarify something. I got the C110, but it can only read airbag light but can not reset it, even through i got it upgraded to V3.8.  It can not diagnose vehicle either. I got a free xmas giveaway BMW V1.4, it can scan and diagnose, i vote on later
