Just discovered convenience opening/closing

Whilst on my train journey home I was flicking through the E53 user manaul and came across the section of convenience opening/closing, where once you have unlocked your car with the remote, you then press & hold down the unlock button, it will open the front windows, then the rear windows and then the sunroof. Plus reverse the action if you hold down the lock button.  Thinking this would be an option extra, I tried on my car and it works.

It's standard across most BMW/Mini models AFAIK.  Can be a bit of an issue with Convertibles if the key gets pressed in your pocket though.  I found our E46 roof half way retracted after the key was inadvertently pressed - fortunately it was in a secure car park and it wasn't raining!!

PS - you need to find better reading material on a train.... :D

In future just give your 6 year old the key and he'll show you all its features in about a minute! Lol

As for convenience opening.  Has been good for me the last couple of days as my door carrier has broken so can only open car from inside :-(

I discovered my Astravan has it too, I was leant on my key fob and the windows rolled down.
I had this on my 1990 E30 325i, and every BMW since. Very handy after returning to your car that has been parked in the sun all day. ( you remember the sun don't you ? )
