problem tyres

Hi
I hope someone can help me - about 3 months ago i bought Vredestein Sessanta tyres for tyremen.co.uk _ I ordered a pair of front and a pair of rear at the appropriate OEM sizes
But the tread pattern confuses me - its like I have a pair of assymetrical (sided) tyres - two of the same. but nowhere on the tyre does it say they are sided or that they are directional etc. But if you look at the pic it looks like the read pattern is acting in opposing directions - what do you think? I havent posted a pic of the front but they are the same

Looks alright to me......try Googling that tyre for other images to see if they're the same.....
If they were directional then I would expect a mirror image, but if they aren't then the grooves are all in the right places.

The pattern isn't the same - I can see that. Think the one on the right is correct and the one on the left should be on the right (when it's presented to that side the pattern is the same as you're other one)!
Look for an arrow pointing in the correct forward rotation (see Richard's post
here) or the word 'outside' on the tyre wall.
Incidentally - are they all the same size?

I just put Sessanta's on my Z4, also from Tyreman, and the rim on each tyre has "Outside" in raised letters. I can't see it would be any different for larger tyres.

Which would still make that pair correctly mounted as the word 'Outside' would still be on the outside......if it also had a rotation marker then it would also confirm. On both the main groove is on the inside edge of the tread.

yep but if you imagine the tyre rotating through standing water it just looks as thought the 'swoosh' tread pattern is doing different things on the opposite sides or am I looking at it wrong?
Re the tyres on Z4 I did find a website that said that the 'outside' lettering often appears on tyres on performance cars. much as I love my X5 I'm not sure I'd describe it as a performance car. But there is definiitely no OUTSIDe wording on it anywhere.

It does look that way I agree. Looks like it chucks everything into the left side?
I wonder if it says 'Inner Side' anywhere? Looking at the mages on the web, all the pairs are exactly the same as yours. Even a piccie with all four looks like that.

They are correct as shown with Richards pic. Does look odd but is the way they are supposed to be.

I have Sessantas on my summer wheels, will photograph them and check. I thought they looked good, not wrong.

perhaps I didn't notice! Have you called Tyremen? They are actually quite helpful.

I dont see how the tyre on the right would disperse ground water correctly...

It's because both are pushing the water inwards which would provide more stability than if one was pushing the water inwards and other outwards which would push the rear to one side more at speed (aquaplaning).
