Hi

I have a detachable tow bar fitted to my X5, I have read that if you have a tow bar you are supposed to have larger fan blades fitted, how do you know its been done?

When was the towbar fitted?  If it's a factory job then any additional steps would have been done then as part of the build.  The standard fan is 600W and the detachable towbar (or additional towing capacity) one is 850W.

If it's after market then no idea, the 'standard' from factory towing capacity is 2.4tonnes after which additional hardware is needed including an additional radiator in the nearside front wing if you opt for 'additional towing capacity' at build which allows up to 3.5tonnes.

See if you can see a part number on it, or a power rating plate?  Also if options S233A or S235A are on the original options list it should have been done.

Its a Westfalia, which I think is the one BMW supply.  I will see if I can find any supporting bits for it.
