Stereo/telephone question

Post by MrMaloo » Mon Jun 17, 2013 9:41 am

Hi

I have an annoying probelm i'd like an answer to. I have a 2004 x5 4.8is. Its got sat nav and bluetooth for phone. The previous owner has added an ipod lead which comes out in the front ashtray compartment and i think is connected in the boot instead of the factory cd changer. It all works fine except when i start the car the stereo comes on and if i was previously playing my ipod then that continues to be the selected mode but as i start the car and the music starts it immediately stops and seems to go into phone mode. Even if i cycle through the music sources eg tape, radio etc they all work fine until it gets to the ipod which plays then cuts out till i make and end a call using the call button on the steering wheel. Its like the ipod starts to play and then the stereo cuts it off in favour of the phone! Exasperating! Is there a setting somewhere that i've missed?

Thanks

Jon

I do want an intravee! I've already got the kci420 thing that allows ipod control from a previous alpine headunit. Just wondering if i'll suffer the same problem?!?
