Hi all!

The time has come to sell my beloved X5 - brilliant, fantastic car. Just no longer need the space for pushchairs etc and want to get back to a convertible  :)
I have looked on autotrader, and I have an idea of what sort of price to expect, but would value your input!

Spec: (apologies if I have listed some standard items but I cannot recall what the extras were without getting the paperwork out)
May 2006 (06 plate) X5 3 litre D Le Mans Sport Exclusive Edition
Le Mans Blue, automatic
20" alloys
Black leather
Privacy glass
Front & Rear parking sensors
Auto rain / lights
Tracker
Xenons
Electric memory seats
Titanium front grille and bonnet grilles (4.8L style)
Folding, autodimming mirrors
Heated steering wheel (yes, yes, I hear you laugh! But - seriously a brilliant option which I adore!!)
Heated seats (front)
112k miles
One female owner since new (me!)
Full BMW main-dealer service history. Last Service March 2013
MOT until May 2014
11 months tax left
2 new tyres recently, and 2 new fronts going on next week
New brake pads going on next week

Interior is spotless. Exterior has one small door ding which will cost circa £50 to remove. Usual light scratches given the car's age. Alloys have some light scuffs.

So, thoughts please for a private sale? I have decided on my next car already, and am not going to trade-in.

Thank you in advance :)

There is a requirement to be an established member with min 25 posts before advertising. We haven't created chapter and verse advertising rules but I can assure you that "cheeky psuedo advertising" is not allowed here for new members either.....................I appreciate you are asking what car is worth, however, there can be fine line between advertising and giving extensive detail when asking for a valuation.

I am sure if you look on Autotrader, Pistonheads, ebay etc you will be able to see asking prices of similar cars

I would normally delete your thread but until I decide how best to proceed I suggest you may find the following of interest............

Essentially it's a 5/06 car so higher tax banded.............this may put some off as may the mileage.

You may find it of interest to click here

Hope this clarifies & maybe helps

Thanks for your reply AW8. I am certainly NOT advertising, nor would I ever advertise the car for sale on the forum, regardless of number of posts. I'm simply asking for some advice ...  :(

Not sure I get the whole advertising thing, came across as a genuine request for advice to me?
I purchased my X5 from a dealer in February this year trading in my very clean and slightly newer 530d m sport. I tried to sell the 530 privately but with a 5 figure price tag I had one enquiry no viewings. The car was competitively priced and in outstanding condition. If a dealer sells you a substandard car there are comebacks a warranty, the desire to protect their reputation, trading standards, legal action, the power of social media etc.
If you spend 5 figures privately and things go wrong you have no comebacks so who is going to go down that route? When I did the deal with my 530 and the x5 the dealer gave me only £500 less on trade in than I was asking privately for my 530 and I got him to knock a few hundred off his price on the X. This was the third deal I had tried to do so patience is required but at the value of your X in my view it has to be trade in every time the only attraction of a private sale to a potential buyer at the kind of price you would be asking  is a rock bottom price deal so you are unlikely to get a great price plus you need to pay for advertising constantly valet your car and allow drivers you have never met to drive your much loved car! Trade it in all day long in my view but wait for the right deal.
