Self levelling suspension query

Hi there.....In the last couple of months i had the self level suspension error message come up on my march 04 x5 diesel sport a couple of times. Both times the error disappeared when the ignition was switched off and then on again. The car drove normally and the suspension looked normal. Has anyone else had this happen to them? What could be the reason?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Very common and is usually an indicator that your battery is getting weak. If it's still on the original one and only doing short or irregular journeys then it may be approaching end of life.
Sometimes it will also occur if you don't wait for all of the warning lights at ignition Pos 2 to cycle through their thing and go out before cranking the engine.

I would then look at the pump. If the sensors don't register a hight change when it's pumping up it will throw a fault. Cycling the ignition will clear it as the weak pump has already started to pressurise and it now has a second attempt. £35 for a pump seal repair. A very easy job to do.
