For those subscribing to Which? magazine

I will be featured in the December issue with regards to a dispute I had with PayPal and which I won :)

The photographer took 2 hours to take pictures of Mrs PVR and myself. Bit over the top I would have thought, but hey - not a bad way to get a load of professional portraits for free :D

In summary:

- Bought something, paid with PayPal.
- Goods did not arrive.
- Raised dispute with PayPal.
- PayPal voted in favour of me, so I "won".
- However - no funds in the seller PayPal account, so sorry - no money back.
- Took exception to that as to me, PayPal is presenting itself as the "safe method for paying" with money back guarantee etc. Not much good if the small print means that if the seller empties their PayPal account, there is still no protection.
- Used my legal insurance from my Credit Card to take them on and they paid up in the end.

From now on, PayPal has to refund customers irrespective of the state of the seller's PayPal account contents.

Nice work, well done. We'll keep an eye out for the mag as SWMBO is a subscriber :D

Agree with you on the time these phot jobs take! When the story about the 'potential' health issues with mobile phone masts broke several years ago, a colleague and I were put front and centre to represent the Government Agency then responsible for Spectrum Management (I think we were the only people around at the right time!!). We ended up spending getting on for two hours with a Sky News cameraperson who wanted to try all these different shots of the two of us in the mobile lab both driving and using it. If I remember rightly we were on telly for all of oooh 20 seconds - repeated four times and hour for the next day until the story died down again. What a waste of an afternoon!! They didn't use our best sides at all  :headbang:

Having met mrs pvr I'm sure the issue wasn't with her, but it probably took him 2 hours to work out if you actually had a 'better' side !
