I've been desperate to change my front lights as I hate the orange part and the dated look but the ones I want I'm struggling to find anywhere that have them in stock,

So I had a chat with a chap who sells this headlight tint film who I bought some off a couple of years back to tint the lights out on my TT:

Image

I loved the look but it did limit the light out put so didn't stay on for long

After talking to the bloke he was talking about this new stuff he sells that is much lighter so I popped over and collected some as well as a small section of the old darker stuff,

when I got home I removed my lights and first used the darker stuff to at first cover the orange lens:

but then decided to use the dark stuff to cover the entire indicator and then used the lighter stuff to cover the whole light:

as you can see the you can still see inside the light unlike the TT where it is so dark.

I also covered the fogs here's one tinted one not:

Here's a pic showing the lights on one tinted one not

As you can see there's no real difference.

I took a few pics of the light output onĀ  the road (it looked better than the camera makes out as I couldn't stop the camera dimming when taking the pic)

Here they are in day light:

Now I've carried out this little cheap mod I now really like the way it looks and as the light output seems relatively unchanged I might put off changing the lights.

The next little mod I carried out today was fitting my 20mm rear spacers which my brother-in-law knocked me up free of charge (he owns an engineering company) also 2 spigot rings as my new wheels were missing 2:
