how do i reset my e53 gears back to the factory reset ?

Hi I have just got my X5 diesel on a 56 plate, and was told that it was possible to reset the gearbox, so that it would memorise the way i drive, and help with my MPG.

If anyone knows how this can be done, please let me know.

Theory has it that you get in the car, switch the key to Pos 2 (don't start it), fully depress the throttle for 30 secs, release and switch off. Then start the car and go for a short drive.

you can also reset adaptations using inpa, also if you do the soft reset (above) it wont be instand, do it and drive like a girl for a few days and you may notice the difference
