Hi
Really like this forum. Lots of nice friendly people who seem to have a wealth of knowledge on X5 so high time I joined.
I own a 2010 e70 3.5d M-Sport which i am having chipped today.
I am remapping the ECU which will liberate a few more ponies. What I am looking forward to is the jump in torque, which is claimed to be 540lbs!
Will provide a follow up post on what the results are like....

Who is doing the remap?
540 sounds a bit high?

That could be goodnight torque converter if you aren't careful.

Re: Hello from London
So the remap looked pretty straight forward, and was carried out promptly and efficiently by DMS. It took about 25 mins to complete and the service was very good.
The chap carrying it out suggested that the average torque figures are around 515-520lbs but it just depends from engine-to-engine. Still is a significant jump and they have carried out tests over thousands of miles to ensure that it is not over stressing the components.
Did 150 miles yesterday mainly on motorway and I can certainly feel the increase in power and torque. Flat out it is very rapid and the torque available between 2000-4000 makes motorway cruising effortless.
Also saw an improvement in fuel economy. Trip computer showing an indictated 29.4mpg!
So quite happy so far....

Re: Hello from London
DMS will be fine and they would have kept to the gearbox limit which are more your later figures and c100 more than before.

Welcome.
How much was the remap, if you don't mind me asking?

People buy horsepower but drive torque!
