Has anyone bought / used / seen one of these in action ? I am very interested but would like to know how easy / difficult it is to use .

I have a 'spare key' that will open /close the car electronically and manually but as it isn't programmed in the EWS it won't start the car .

Looking at this I should be able to fully program it . Much cheaper than buying a key from the stealer !

Never used one and would only ever get an official key from a Dealer rather than risk messing with the EWS and possibly bricking it.

I have worked in electronics for most of my life and still build circuits for my son's model railway.

I used to  reprogram telecomms systems too.

I have also changed EWS settings on the car  before - if you save the current configuration before changing anything it shouldn't be a problem restoring it should things go wrong . They haven't up to now !

Also does anyone know where the EWS is located on the E53 ?

I am guessing under the steering column but realoem shows the part but not it's location .
