Question in case anyone has done this already, maybe possibly thinking about a drive to watch the F1, the idea was something along the lines of:-
Friday - leave 6pm+ either stop on the coast or France (B&B)
Sat - Drive with a stop somewhere (Spa?), ending at a B&B not far from the ring
Sun - Watch the race, then head back straight after.
Anyone done this run and any tips on places to go through or stopover?

When we go on the bikes we ride to Dover on the Friday and stay there and have a night out, we get the early ferry around 7.00am we then ride non stop with only fuel stops and we get there for mid afternoon on the Saturday, we then go up to Adenau where the ring is, youll find a few hotels here, the one we stay at is 15 miles from Adenau, Sunday is spent at the ring and Monday we ride back to Dunquerk to get the afternoon ferry, job done

When we've done the Ring we've travelled non stop from Brum to the tunnel then 30 minutes across and like Ian a straight run to the Ring (just one stop for fuel) on the other side. Different options but only 500ish miles.
How much you looking at for the Grand Prix entry.

Can get tickets for race day for £99 obviously upwards from there to whatever you like. You can guess which tickets we'd go for

To be honest no idea. But considering the volume of people that will be there that weekend I wouldn't fancy your chances.
Anyway I got useless mates that are shy of travelling. Looks like I'm gonna convert this into a father and son road trip. (Luckily he has no choice in the matter)

Bit late now but German motorway really no speed limit? And are there any toll charges to pay route Calais, Brussels, via Netherlands to Cologne? I thought I say something once but didn't see it again.
