Unfortunately and much to my regret I have to sell the X5 :( I'm in the middle of buying a new house down south which requires a refurb' and I'll need to buy a van to do this, I can't justify running the X5, the 840 and a van. (I may even need to sell the 8 series as the garage is too small  :cry1: after 7 years ownership) and hope to go for an E70 once all is done and dusted.

I paid £12k for it in December, forecourt sale not private. I'm hoping to achieve £10k for it so let's test the water.

Opinions on suggested value welcome (informed opinions please rather than someone who 'would give me £5k for it', incidentally webuyanycarforhalftheirvalue.com offer £6500, so if someone is making a living buying cheaper and selling to them fair play to them).

Car is here :(
Car is MOT'd until Jan 2014, Tax until Dec 2013. 118k miles, BMWSH until last oil service which was December 12.
METALLIC  STERLING GREY
BLACK HEATED EXCLUSIVE NAPPA LEATHER SEATS WITH MEMORY FUNCTION, (level up from usual dakota leather)
PROFESSIONAL SAT NAV SYSTEM WITH BLUETOOTH AND TV FUNCTION,
CRUISE CONTROL,
6 CD SYSTEM,
FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSORS,
REAR PRIVACY GLASS,
PANORAMIC GLASS ELECTRIC SUNROOF WITH ELECTRIC BLIND,
AUTOMATIC XENON HEADLIGHTS,
MULTI FUNCTION HEATED LEATHER STEERING WHEEL, (rare and makes people on the forum jealous, brilliant in winter :) or just 3 weeks ago)
DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL,
EXTENDED WHEEL ARCH KIT,
EXCLUSIVE WHEEL OPTION WITH 20 INCH BMW ALLOYS WITH WIDER REARS.
ALUMINIUM RUNNING BOARDS,
FULL SERVICE HISTORY
REMOVABLE TOWBAR
REMAPPED FOR POWER/ECONOMY WHICH PROVIDES AN AMAZING DRIVE WITH IMPROVED FUEL ECONOMY (done by Jason@BWChiptune)
The car has a few little marks around the body as is usually expected, it has had no paint to my knowledge, but is still in brilliant condition, 2 small car park dings on rear drivers side door, the wheels have a few marks but are good with excellent tread left on the tyres.

Official BMW Spec sheet for the actual car is below:

Have you put a reserve on that eBay listing Jon? It looks like it will go for whatever at the minute (could be under your £10k).

Nope....  :-[ The weird thing is, when I tried to put a reserve on it at the weekend the listing fees went up to £76!!!  so I thought balls to that. If I try now it only goes up to £17.99 from £10.99 so that one has me a bit stumped.

I might have to pull it and re-list with a reserve  >:(

Classified ad is better £14.95 if its not going to make what you want pull it of or if it sells and your not happy with the figure just say there's something wrong with it. ;)

Thanks for the advice, I may well just do that as there's lots of interest but just not the early bidding activity.

I know when I was looking back in December you just couldn't find an exclusive spec with the wider arches, wheels and options etc.. for anywhere near where it's at. in fact only a couple of spurious dogs were available under £10k, one which was advertised at 125k miles that actually had 142k when I went to see it, but the dealer wouldn't even pull it out of the showroom claiming it had a flat battery and his jump pack was out with an employee who'd gone to pick up another car and would be back for 3 hours, I walked away as they were very uninterested in the fact I turned up 'without giving them notice' when it was an open forecourt and showroom. The other one was a spurious ebay advert where the guy had obviously wrote his own feedback for the hundreds of positive feedback he had, check out the fb on cars1stchoice4you  http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... dback  ..... the car turned out to have never visited a BMW dealer since it was purchased and had no service history at all.

I live in hope, good job i'm not in such a big hurry to sell it.

Probably because they aren't worth buying and are dogs maybe?

The car is on pleabay to see what interest I get, which so far has been a lot but I suspect dreamers or timewasters, some wanting it for £5k (cash of course!) some wanting to swap it for a 2003 Transit...2007 Audi A4.. etc.. etc..

I paid £12k for it in December, forecourt sale not private. I'm hoping to achieve £10k for it so let's test the water.

Also selling the plate separately.

Looks a really nice example mate. I was hunting high & low this time last year until I found a similar spec model.

I'd definitely have made you a good offer on yours if I was still in the hunt.

Hopefully that was you who 'won' it after sticking a few reserve bids on B1G JV?  :noexpression:

X5 still for sale. I'll avoid ebay when I advertise it and go with the Gumtree / Pistonheads / Autotrader route I think.

£9750 ono.

Wow - this looks like exactly what I'm after.
Don't get your hopes up yet though, I've only just started looking seriously and I've yet to get the wife a test drive in one. Looks cracking though :)

I'm starting to think I could be waiting for months to find the 'right' buyer, and house completion imminent (next week) I will need a van next week. :(

I have an offer of £8500 cash for the car this weekend (well I wouldn't accept shares, lollipops or bottle tops! :D ) although it kills me and makes me want to keep the car, I can't have a van, the 840Ci and an X5 on my drive at the new house, anyone who fancies a look with a higher offer let me know, otherwise I might just accept it this weekend.
