Head rest DVD Players

Re: Head rest DVD Players
It's certainly powered on the E53, but not on the E70/71 (annoyingly). I believe that's where most people power theirs from, and will be when I get the set to fit on the back of the head restraints in my X6.
You could run a permanent (fused) feed from the battery, but it depends upon how well you can hide the wiring going to the units themselves? Are they the built in, or clamped behind type?

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Re: Head rest DVD Players
I brought an X5 with an after market DVD Player/Headrest screens fitted to my car and had constant flat battery and couldnt figure out why. Eventually identified the cause as being the DVD player being constaltly live, draining my battery. Its currently unplugged, but need to figure out how to wireup so it doesnt drain the battery.

I ran mine of the cigarette lighter and fitted a rocker switch from Maplin into the blanking plug next to the AV in/out jacks. Looks completely OE
I didn't want to run it from a switched live incase it reset the DVD players when starting the car. Voltage drain is very small anyway but now I can simply turn them off if not using the car for a while.
