I'm now 2 months into my X5 experience. Still loving it, except for...

...a squeaky steering wheel  >:(

It's driving me mad! Slightly worse when it's colder, especially in the morning, but always there. No grinding or whining...just squeaky. Maybe also a slight and very intermittent knocking noise from the wheel when turning left/right quickly. I'm keeping everything crossed its not going to be a big problem. I'm running an E53 2006 3.0d.

Any ideas?

You could try putting some Copaslip on the horn ring .
Had same problem on E36 and it worked .
