Can front fogs be set to come on with main beam using 1.4.0 scanner?

As the subject describes.

Have heard this mentioned before but can't find the option in any of the menus.

Are you trying to use all four lamps for say 'flashing' the main beam, or do you want the lights to stay on when main beam is selected?

The latter may not be an option any longer as fogs are supposed to go out when MB selected.  I would expect it to be in the Lighting Control Module if you can 'interrogate' that bit with the scanner....

The last car I had that could keep the fogs on at all main lighting modes (dip/main) required that a wire from the main beam feed to the fog light relay be disconnected.

Want the fogs on all the time the main beam is on.

I'm sure I have searched all options in the LCM but couldn't find it.

I've found a reference which says you need to use NCS Expert and the command to look for in the LCM is FL_UND_NSW_NICHT_GLEICHZ - front fog lights not simultaneously with high beams
aktiv.

BOTH these commands need to be set:
FL_UND_NSW_NICHT_GLEICHZ
LH_UND_NSW_NICHT_GLEICHZ

to aktiv.

One code is for flashing your highs and the other is for driving with your main beam.

(NICHT GLEICH is NOT EQUAL, so a double negative is a positive).

You are right only allowed if they are driving lamps, fogs lamps are not for daily driving.
TBH it's abit selfish to other roads users, people having fogs lamps on damp roads blinds oncoming traffic.

I think you may have misunderstood my question scooby1doo1. I am trying to set fogs to come on with main beam not dipped beam. As you wouldn't have your main beam on when a car is approaching I fail to see how this would be selfish to other road users.

Thanks for that info X5Sport. I am an NCS Expert virgin so will need to have a read up on how it all works.  ;)

Make sure you don't inadvertantly fall foul of paragraphs 7,10 & 12 (a) of Schedule 5, Part I of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 which covers things like height of lamps from the ground and distance edges of the vehicle etc.

Lighting rules change frequently but it's easier with 'additional driving lamps' which is effectively what you're talking about (I think), and it may be no more than they must be in pairs.
