rear coil springs broken

Hello everyone  :)
My rear coil springs on my X3  3.0L sport have broken  >:( . I'm thinking of replacing then myself but I don't know if the car has got the M tec sports suspension. Can anyone tell me how you find out ?

Best thing is to ring the dealer with your reg/chassis and they'll tell you straight off. As for fitting, it isn't too bad on the rears as the springs sit separate to the shocks.

Where about's you based?

Interesting, it seems the X3 suffers the same issue as the E36 3-series then.  They're known to eat rear springs.  Our M-Sport Conv has had at least three replacements since new.  Fronts are always fine, but the rears seem to suffer.  One Dealer said it was because they used recycled steel!!  I was less than convinced ;)
