I'm working my way through various niggling issues over the last couple of years - still got autofold mirrors to do, but current bugbear is getting automatic central locking after driving away.It is E53 2004 3.0 D Sport

It wasn't set to work when I go the car. I coded it with my 1.4.0 scanner but didn't seem to work. So I tried a battery reset. This seemed to fix it. But only for the first time of driving the car. Switch off restart drive away and it goes back to not working

Reset the battery and it will work, but only once. So something is defaulting or overriding - any idea please?
Makes no difference as to what speed you set it to lock at - only ever does it once.

Mine worked first time, if it works once, you think it would be set up and  saved, maybe worth tring it with someone else's scanner to see if its a scanner issue or a car issue. I have mine locking at 12 km.

These are the TICKED boxes in my Scanner ZKE section
After starting (lock)
After starting ( key1)
After starting (key2)

Opening (mech. Lock)
Locking ( mech lock)
Opening (remote control)
Locking ( remote control
Locking condition. 16 km/ hr
Key memory enabled

Maybe something isn't ticked in your settings.

Do you know if similar settings apply to all BMW's?

My E92 will unlock the boot from locked with one key, but requires the car unlocked before releasing the boot with the other. Must get my OBDII Interface working.

Yes you would think if it worked once that would be it. Thanks for posting all your settings. I don't recall seeing so many but I will have a look and check.

However, ............ I had to disconnect the battery for another job at the weekend. connected up job finished and off we went - as soon as I hit the appropriate speed the doors locked. Got to destination locked car came back switched on drive offf no lock !!!! suggest car issue to me rather than anything else???

Lock on drive away is a Key Coding Option.
As the system can accept up to 4 keys then perhaps the scanner is only coding for one key, but maybe not the key you are using...

Thinking along those lines, as the key coding only shows the 2 key options in the software, how do you know if you are actually using key 1,2,3 or 4?

Can you interrogate the software to show you this info?

The software has the option to tick upto 4 keys, I have two keys, so I was showing only the ticked boxes that were relevant to my car. Hope this explains things a bit better.

Yep, thanks. 
Never actually connected any of mine to the PC so can only go by what I see on here.
Really need to get inpa or the like working.
