Who's washed their car this weekend?

It says a lot for how crap the weather has been that 6°C and sunny is a nice day! Anyway, round here, there were very long queues (think panic fuel buying-lite) for the carwash places yesterday. I also took the opportunity to give the X a clean and get rid of all the salt and crud.

Anyone else?

It's not been done for a couple of months, BMW gave it a go over when it was in a couple of months ago and I had it done by some hand wash guys the other week.
I caved and gave it a snowfoam last night, dried it off and put it away for claying, polishing, black holing and waxing this afternoon. Ohh it's going to be a long day.

Yip, washed it on fri, made the mistake of taking it out too early on sat (before the roads had dried) and back to square one. Roll on summer.

Yeh i have, but like a complete tool i didnt realise how quick the battery would flat with the radio on. Jumped her off no probs but its knocked out the obc, reversing mirror, rev/petrol gauge, cruise. I was v careful to connect the leads in order + to +, - to - and then reversed when taking off so i must have knocked something out. Any suggestions would be great.
Cheers, Gav.

Suppose this should be in the probs section. Doh!! Will post in their also.

Yes had enough energy to wash smart car on Friday as very cold and only took a little while then it snowed.

Then did wife's astra yesterday as not washed for 4 weeks then it snowed typical.

The X5 is tucked under its cover and was clean when I put it away, but not used for several weeks due to being ill. Only now waiting to fit new head unit and sub woofer amp and sliding boot floor to car

Washed the X6 on Thursday and the Wifes 120d on Friday and both still clean surprisingly.

I did mine once the layer of ice thawed! I haven't washed it since having the wheels replaced in case it was the jetwash or chemicals the local hand wash guys were using that caused the damage.

This is the first time I've washed a car in years! Only a Hoover wash and treatment of the wheels using the BMW products this time as it was so cold.

Actually quite enjoyed doing it and will look at giving it the clay / polish treatment when it gets warmer.

Used some of the tips on here on how to wash a car with the two buckets etc

End result wasn't too bad for not much more time than I'd have spent doing a round trip to a hand wash place.

Car looks great, nice colour !,

I've washed mine 3 times this week with a wax included today,

I dont use the hand wash places anymore, they don't take enough care and are the main cause of swirl marks in the lacquer,

I've just started getting into detailing myself and have had a few tentative goes with the clay bar ,
This place has a lot of good tips  http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/
