I've been using Blackfire midnight sun carnuba wax and it's worked well on the car but i cant get a decent finish on the roof rails , I've given them 2 coats of wax but the finish is still blotchy and uneven , has anyone else had this problem , Perhaps a silicon based polish would be better ? I tried an acrylic motorbike polish as well and that didnt work either,
Sorry Mods if this is in the wrong place,
Cheers,
Bob

That is the same finish as the high gloss shadow line and its a real PITA. On my 5 series I had all the trim replaced under warranty as it tarnished like yours in the picture.
the replacement set did exactly the same and speaking from experience theres no product that will get it back like new. The rails on my X5 look exactly the same but not as noticeable because they are higher up. My window trim is the chrome finish so unaffected

When its warmer or in heated garage use some Autglym SRP and lots of elbow grease...may take a few go's.

Thanks guys, on an extended warranty so I'm pretty sure trim won't be covered ,
I'll give it a go with the Autoglym when it warms up a bit,
Cheers,
Bob.
