noisy steering when cold

grinding noise in the steering when cold weather when warmer don't notice even if I haven't driven for a few days but when cold any slowly driven or very tight corners and nasty noise
any tips?
Obviously will take to the garage if needed only bought car two months ago and it passed new mot and had a service but I realise car dealers don't necessarily tell the whole truth.
