Just received our new S5 100Ah Bosch battery as the old one is dead
Is this just as simple as dis-connecting the old and connecting the new??
Anything I need to make sure of before doing this?
Is it Black off Red off, Red on Black on?

Assuming you have an E53, then yes it is as simple as a straight swap.
As the +ve lead has an explosive device built into it always remove the -ve first and put it back last. Remember to connect the vent tube back up as well. The 'bomb' is to cut main power in the event of an accident.
Then restart the car and driving slowly forward go from lock to lock to clear the warning lights - they may not come on, but if they do that's all you should need to do.
