Headlight Beam

Does anyone know if you can adjust the headlight beam for European or UK driving (if you live in Germany) or will i have to stick the Beam Deflectors on.

It was possible on my E53s if fitted with xenon lights, just a click of the switch behind the light unit. I don't think it's possible with halogen as the lens is shaped to throw the light in a certain pattern.

i have the xenon lights don't suppose you have a picture it might be the same

It's in the manual, I had them on the e60 5 series

I have Purchased a Manual in English of Ebay but it is at my Mothers in UK i will have to wait until i drive home at Easter or i could try Google translate just a bit slow with my two finger typing but it does show something about the lights.

On my e61 (Non Xenon, but ellipsoid main beam) you have to remove the main beam bulb cover. Inside the headlight unit next to the buld holder there is a metal lever that you move up or down, quite crude, to 'through' the beam. whether this is the same on your X3, I'm not sure. But no harm in looking  Can't take a pic now but happy to do so in the daylight if required.

Now have my English owners manual and it is the lever behind cover, thanks for help.
