Boot tools

Post by steve burnett » Sat Mar 09, 2013 9:28 am

Got my car delivered and looked in at the tools. Seems the break glass tool is missing. Contacted the dealer who then looked inside another X5 and X6 and the same tool was missing. So, does your car have them? Should it be there?

Are you talking about the red 'T' handle?  The latest ones don't come with it.  It's not a break glass tool, but there used to be a handle that looked like one for releasing the handbrake and putting the gearbox in Neutral in the event of an issue.

Must be that then. Never seen the item in question myself.

Thanks for the info.

Both the new X6 & X5 in the local showroom didn't have this item either. As X5sport states, its not required any more. Would have been a silly place to have a break glass tool anyway
