3.0D Remap, Opinions and Efficiency.

I'm loving my E53 its a great car! Only slightly affected by the ZF 6 lurch (typical pulling off on a roundabout in 2nd, only to find no power and then wait....wait..... BOOM 1st gear and your off).
I suspect that this is somewhat exaggerated by the fact that as standard the torque peaks slightly later on the X5 than my old 530d (2000rpm V 1750rpm), so at very low revs in second there just isn't that much torque to get rolling.
Sports mode is fine, and from a full stop (rather than a rolling low speed start) sports and drive both pull off great... Its just the rolling to a roundabout, pulling off and finding there isn't much "oomph" ready.. 9/10 times even in drive it goes fine at roundabouts... I read in another thread someone suggested the computer just likes to give you a scare once in a while
Anyway.. To the point.
REMAP!. Are they decent gains to be made in low end torque, and does this help to mask the ZF lurch problem, or make it worse!.. I would have imagined that more torque at low revs the ZF can just stick with second and pull of a bit more abruptly without needing to downshift.
Secondly.. my OBC lies
.. It's reporting around 35.3 MPG on combined in town + open road.. I've not done much motorway cruising, I can confirm I get better economy on a steady run.. Anyway, on my normal "mixed" driving, I've been using Road Trip app to keep some records, and the average is more like 27MPG. I'm not actually "upset" with that. The car goes great apart from the roundabout thing
.... But if an Economy remap can give me a bit more low end torque without causing any gearbox issues, and give me a bit of extra economy at the same time.. I might be interested
So, Any opinions.. Especially if you've experienced the roundabout lurch problem and had a remap
.
BMW say the car's software is pretty much up to date, I've not bothered to have them reset all the adaptations etc, I might try doing the gearbox adaptation reset see if that makes any differences.
Am I correct that the reset procedure for the ZF6 is the same as the 5 speed on the 530D? Engine off, Ignition ON, step on the throttle+kickdown and hold for 30 seconds to reset the adaptions?
I thought I would miss my 530D... have to say the X5 does make up for it.. It's a laugh driving it. Not quite a sports car, but it does hold the road far better than I had expected on our twisty local roads. And that's with stupidly cheap tyres fitted!
