I've finally done it!

Post by SoapSuds70 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 8:57 pm

Evening all...  :)

It's been one of my wants for a while, but I finally took the plunge this week and traded my 2004 320i Auto E46 for a 2006 X5 3.0d Auto E53. Nervous, you bet! Excited, hell yes!!

It's a cracker of a car (and I've seen some dubious examples along the way) with 1 owner from new, 83k, full BMW service history, Comms pack, Climate pack, immaculate Black Dakota with Met Silver paint and all the usual extras. Loving the heated steering wheel...  8)

Picking the car up on Saturday and will post pics afterwards. Looking forward to getting to know everyone  :)

I'm hoping for about...5 mpg better...  ;)

Obviously not bought for the fuel economy. However the difference in the two auto boxes was very noticeable. Had to do 2 test drives just to be sure though!

Soapsud, interesting name you've chosen there.  Anyway, hi and  :hi:

Looking forward to seeing the pictures of your new beast and I always love to see new X owners, as they always come across as very very excited about the X.

I know our 325i Auto E46 Convertible was very thirsty and being both heavy and an auto needed to be kept high in the rev range to make it go......unlike our 330Cd E46 'vert' which scares M3s.....for about 100yards. :P 8)
