51 plate 4.4 v8 - Stuck in fail safe after remap

Hi all,

Was hoping someone could shed some light on this as it's got me stumped!

Basically, after remapping my x5 the car ran no probs, went out for a quick spin, all was well.

Then after switching off and back on again, the car went straight into fail safe mode.

I've cleared the fault codes (only one that came up was for a dodgy cam sensor) and the car will come out of failsafe but it idles high at 1250RPM.

As soon as you switch off though, it goes back into failsafe??? :(

Pulled the cam sensor off, cleaned it, now the code is gone but still in failsafe and some other faults have shown up.

Can anyone shed any light on this as it's doing my head in, even re-installed the standard map and its no different

Many thanks in advance

Have you tried restoring the original map and see if that helps?

Hi

Who remapped your car?  if a company should you to go back to them

If it was you then as said above restoring old map may help.

Do you have a scanner and are you able to see if there are any fault codes which may help identify the cause.

If you do a quick search for is it trans fail safe I'm thought there is a procedure to reset it

What was the tool you are using to write to the car
Which x is it and the year
