So, got a machine polisher for my birthday and had a bit of a go yesterday. To be honest it was freezing cold so I only spent a couple of hours. A quick scratch repair with G4 paste before using some auto glym paint restorer. Then a hand polish with auto glym deep shine.
Then it snowed. Standard.

Looks fantastic. Always been scared to use machine polisher myself. Always left it to the experts!!

i was a bit scared myself but kept it on low speeds and had a practice on next doors van first. it worked great on a couple of scratches and has made the paintwork look new. i think it requires more skill on darker colours that are prone to visible swirling.
It worked a treat on the headlamps and my next step will be to wet and dry sand them, before polishing back (to remove any stone pits)
its a clarke polisher bought from machine mart for £82. need to buy a few polishing bonnets now.
does anyone know my colour? is it 'space grey'?

Haha, he's not bothered about his van which has never been washed.i did half the bonnet and one headlamp to try it out. I quickly realised that I could take it easy and not do any damage if I chose to. It has a soft start which helps to feed the power to the pad.
