Noobie - 4.6is in North London

Post by Geezer » Fri Feb 22, 2013 2:30 pm

Hi All,

I picked up my 4.6is black on black last weekend and first impressions are .. superb! Funnily enough, I’ve actually been looking for a 5 series for the past month when this came up and won me over. I’ve only really driven it the 70 miles from where I picked it up last weekend and a few short trips during the week, but I’m hoping to get a good blast in my trip to Birmingham this weekend.

Although there don’t appear to be any major issues, I’m ever conscious of learking gremlins on a used car, so I’m getting it thoroughly checked out by an indy on Monday.  I’ll then get set on sorting out some minor niggles (where any thoughts and ideas are much appreciated):
-          A good clean, including scrubbing the running boards.
-          CD changer missing.
-          ‘Tyre control inactive’ warning light comes on.
-          Two small scuffs on the passenger seat.
-          Passenger wing mirror auto fold not working

I'll get some pics up soon. I can't seem to do this straight from my phone.

Hi and  :hi: Geezer,

Looking forward to the pics, you'll also have let us know the full spec of your car.  The 4.6/4.8is normally get a very high spec.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

...yes I know I still need to get some pics up and will do soon. Thing is I do most of my browsing either on iPhone or iPad and rarely fire the computer up these days.

Thanks for the tip Raj! That's perfect.

I'm up in birmingham a fair bit so may bump into you. Is that an Alpina X5 you have there (in your signature)? The wheels look superb.

Here are a few pictures for now. I'll take some more when I've given it a good clean.
