Read quite a bit about plasti dip ....
Was wondering would 5 coats of this stuff on my side steps be ok? Would it last ( as I never stand on the side steps anyway ) thinking of black to match the rest of the car ......
Cheers

Plasti Dip ???
Re: Plasti Dip ???
If you get the BMW Performance side steps then you will have a colour coded section instead of ally and rubber dots. You would struggle to (a) find a pot big enough to put them in to plastic dip them and (b) remove them and refit without breaking a few plastic mounting lugs. Powdercoating an option maybe?

Yes cheers ....
Although I believe you can get this stuff in a spray tin, and the finish looks pretty smooth / even etc ....
But yes powder coat could be an option, also thinking of powder coating the OEM wheels ?

Get the spray can, Remove rubber dots, mask it off and then spray on. Plasti dip is good stuff, and is very popular in the states. In the US people have even started doing their whole X5 in it...
And as you never use the the step, it should last. Iv considered doing it and may do when the weather gets better...
