BMW 1 Series (with iDrive)

So I had to get the wife an updated 1 series, went diesel this time - much better for our lifestyle.

It's a  December 2005 build and I have 2 mods I'd like to get done on this one.

1. Bluetooth (it doesn't have it - or so I think it doesn't)
2. iPod connectivity - just want to see the Album/Playlist/Songs on the screen

I'm slowly getting through the babyBMW forum but wondered if any forum members on here have a similar spec second car and may be able to help me shortcut through to the answers.

And I thought a box of chocolates and some flowers from the supermarket was steep!

I bought bugger all except for a valentines card which cost twice the price of the anniversary card I bought at the same time despite the latter being twice the size.

£8 for a fucking card is bonkers

At least I've got an excuse- going to be 15 years married this year... You run out  of original card messages, and any spontaneous surprises are met with the ever so predictable 'what have you done?' or 'what do you want?'

How many years on the second outing now for you?

Oh and your right- £8 could get you a few miles worth of fuel!

Haven't made a year yet this time, I'm doing my best!

£8 is probably about 20 miles for me!

You guys are such high rollers, a decent looking card and cute teddy bear with change from £8 and I'm in the good books.  That said it's only the second time in 19 years so the wife has come to accept low aspirations.  ;)

Got the Nav but the Communications bit says No Telephone Hardware installed (or something like that) Contact BMW - yeah right!

I can't find a USB port (yet) but if it has one a Y-Cable is said to be the way forward for iPod connectivity. If not, people talk about Dension Gateways. Just bought the thing so not keen to spend hundreds more to get these extras (especially when I can rip the guts out of it myself)!

Just need to know what I need then I can DIY.

Oh and she wasn't even 'bovered' she got a car for Valentine's. Why are women like that.......
