I have been a member in the past but didn't renew my membership a couple of years ago. Mainly as the magazine (I enjoy reading magazines) went, imho, downhill.

Just wondered if anyone was a member here?

Was, but cancelled my renewal this year.  The forum for Xowners seems dead and the mag was OK but not worth the annual fee they now charge.

So I've not missed much then!

I felt the mag was being driven (excuse the pun) by one or two members and articles I'd enjoyed (and even contributed to) were being pushed aside as those members felt it should be different - ie. running reports.

The other main benefit was the BMW dealer discount which my dealer started to give me out of loyalty anyway! Sometimes more than the club discount in fact.

I joined. Put my name down for the golf day but not even a reply was had

I'm a member but only really use it for the discounted parts.

sounds like some of u rcvd letters from bmw today i did - and was gonna ask u guys whehter its worthwhile joining.. i guess i got the answer thanks

I was a member aswell but I didn't rate the magazine much so didn't renew...but I keep thinking I should join again as I do love the bmw brand 

I've been a member since the late 80's and I think it's improved dramatically over last few years.
The magazine certainly has,it's has really good depth,and some interesting articles.
There has also been an improvement on 'offers' for members too.

As I'm living abroad,it's a bit difficult to comment too much on their meetings,however,I've been
to Gaydon for the last 8 years and always enjoyed it.
Also did the Duxford meeting a couple of times and also enjoyed it.

However,I will say that I normally go with my B8,so it's a bit different to taking the X5.Last year I
went with the X5 and I think there was only one other there!!
