A yellow light has come on on the dash in the shape of an engine.
Anyone had any experience of this and any advice would be appreciated, it does state in the owners book that its a deterioration of the exhaust emissions control values sorry but thats all above me.
Any help thanks guys Carl. :?

possible faulty o2 sensor?? (aka lambda sensor) these sensors dictate the fuel air mix based on unburnt o2 out of the exhaust it can then tell if the car is running as efficiently as possible i.e a stoicheometric burn ( measurement control uni days coming back to me) lol. when all fuel and gases etc are burned. any how, you would probably see poor performance or a miss under load if this were the case, but could be on its way maybe?? just guessing here!! know any one with a little diagnostic obd2 code reader??

You need to have it diagnosed to find the fault code that will be stored in the memory. I don't want to frighten you but mine needed an O2 sensor and both catalytic convectors replacing, but it could also be something as simple as the fuel filler cap was not tightened enough at your last fill of fuel.

Manual has it all but roughly speaking:
Yellow - ok to drive but have it diagnosed. Red - more serious - get to a dealer!

Mine is on nearly all the time but apparently because I'm on LPG this can cause the light to come on. Apparently its to do with the emmissions and the fact that with gas the emissions are lower so the car thinks there is something wrong. Have had my system serviced recently and they have'nt stopped it coming on. Maybe it should never come on even with gas but I'm sure someone will put me right. :)

As prior stated yellow light merely tells there is a fault code - it could be resultant from any one of a number of issues.

Re LPG systems not heard of widespread associated illumination.

If illuminated I would get a diagnostic done by hooking car to a decent reader.

mine also on 90% of the time, had it into dealer and yes it is associated with the lpg, run it on petrol and after a few miles it goes out, change back to lpg and within a few miles back on.
So I ignore it, went through mot last month and both lpg and petrol emissions were ok.

Well that characteristic would probably put me off an LPG installation as having that light on most of the time would niggle me beyond belief.
