Car tax

Post by Hoppy_70 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 9:56 pm

Anyone know what the e70 rules are? I have a 2007 3.0d se that was reg on 7/9/07. According to parkers cars reg after 3/9 attracted the lower tax of 270 (ish) but mine has the big tax fee at 470.

I think the build date for mine was July. Anyone got the definitive?

DVLA says £460 for both March 2007 and September 2007. That rate applies until March 2009 when the new engines came out which were cleaner.

This UK Gov site tells you what you need...

Isn't it after March 2006 that it went from £270 to £460. My e53 was registered in June 06 and will be £460 when I tax it in April.

I've just gone through the link Richard put up and agree its £460. The co2 is 231.  I seem to remember that this was a kick in the pants for BMW and they worked to get the engine below 225 grams that then reduced the tax.
