it depends whether you have the correct offset 19'' wheels to clear the brake callipers..maybe that's where the noise is coming from..

Factory 19" or non-OEM?
What sort of 'noise'?
What do you mean by 'sitting funny' at the rear? The rears will appear to 'lean inwards' at the top when viewed from behind.
Have you got a 'staggered' set-up? The fronts should be 19" x 9" and the rears 19" x 10" if you're going factory.

Check your wheels - I am assuming you have an OEM set of 19s - are not staggered alloys in other words are all 4 wheels the same or do 2 have different centres which mean they are handed front and rear pairs. Else calliper clearance if not OEM as already suggested caused by incorrect offset

the noise is a strange one it is like the wind is blowing and you can hear it with the radio on,i do not know if it is just me but i have never heard it before
i have the staggered set up someone said to me that i might need to change the rear bushes as it leans inward

The rear 'lean' is normal if you look as most E53s with 19" or 20" standard set-up from behind. The bigger the wheels, the more noticeable it is.
The noise could be no more than tyre roar. It does depend on the size and type - even with the same manufacturer. I have noticed there is a lot more tyre roar on my X6 when fitted with the 20" standard wheels than there is with the 19" winter set-up. I have Dunlop SportMaxx for Summer and Pirelli Scorpions for the current season. Both are RFT but have very different noise characteristics.
When I switch between sets I notice it for a couple of days and then ignore it.....

Can only add that you need to check the staggered ones are on the back for sure. Front's obviously correctly on the front.
Then check the tyres are on in the correct direction - look for the arrow on the side wall.
Tyre roar does go up a bit!

new tyres? tyres have a
noise grading.
noise also increases if the wheels aren't aligned properly. like toe in/out.
the 'lean' couldn't have changed by changing tyres or wheels. it must have always been there. its just that the E53 usually has a slightly noticeable negative camber...
